Vijay and Manisharma combo have produced many superhit songs together. Who can forget the evergreen 'Aal Thotta Bhoopathy' from Youth? Or the 'Melliname' and 'Minnalai Pidithu' from Shajahan? Or the 'Dol Dol' and 'Nee Mutham Ondru Kuduthal' from the blockbuster Pokkiri? Expectations are always big from the combo to give superhit music and Manisharma has satisfied Vijay's fans by giving them a peppy and mass filled album that should work in the current trend. One had wished that Manisharma composed a few more original tunes for this album than what he has done (4-5 tunes are re-used from his superhit albums) but for the new listener, this should be a highly entertaining album.

1. Vanga Kadal Ella - Naveen & Malathi

A highly energetic song with the customary kuthu beats that are an integral part of Vijay's film music. The tune (re-used from Jr NTR's film "Ashok") is very catchy and the energy for the song remains high due to the enthusiastic singing of Naveen (a Manisharma regular) and Malathi. The lyics are written keeping Vijay's image and his section of audience in mind and should invoke lots of whistles in theatres when the song is played.

Rating: 3.5/5

2. Vetri Kodi Eathu - Ranjith & Mukesh

BEST OF THE ALBUM BY MILES!! The starting orchestra might give a sense of deja vu but the following flute bit sets the tempo of the song and is exceptional. A highly foot tapping song, the lyrics are very inspiring and lift the mood of the listener. This song is already a chartbuster, and coupled with good picturisation should definitely be amongst the song of the year in Tamil.

Rating: 4.2/5

3. Thamizhan Veera Thamizhan - Rahl Nambiyar

A situational type of song that glorifies the hero, the song takes quite a bit of time to get used to. This song surely depends heavily on the situation where it is placed in the film. the lyrics are the typical 'high glorification' of a Thamizh guy which should be liked by certain sections of the audience

Rating: 2.5/5

4. Naa Nadandhal Athiradi - Naveen, Shoba Chandrasekar

Another song written keeping Vijay's image and mass audience in mind. Its been customary for Vijay's mother to sing atleast a song in Vijay's recent films and she continues in this film too. Her voice sounds so young that it easily suits any current heroine or item girl in Tamil cinema. A catchy song, should do well with Vijay's dance steps

Rating: 3/5

5. Siragadikum Nilavu - Karthik, Reetha

Long time since Karthik was heard in a Vijay album. One of the best singers out there for any type of a song (especially romantic and sad soul stirring songs), Karthik is absolutely at ease with this romantic duet song between Vijay and Tamannah. Manisharma gives a good tempo in the background with the beats and instruments. Definitely another "Kannum Kannum Than Kalandhachu" in the making (the stills featuring Vijay and Tamannah also indicate the same).

Rating: 3.8/5

6. Thanjavure Jillakari - Harichandra, Saindhavi

A song that would have been awesome had Anushka been there ("Bommayee...." reminds one of Anushka's super performance in in the Telugu blockbuster "Arundhati"). A highly peppy and energetic song from Manisharma (re-used from the Telugu "Billa" starring Prabhas and Anushka). The equivalent of "Dol Dol" from Pokkiri, one gets to hear Suchitra after quite some time but she is just relegated to a few middle lines here. The lyrics are naughty and should work with Vijay's target audience.

Rating: 3.7/5

An entertaining album perfectly set up for Vijay's fans and his section of the audience. The picturisation of the songs should lift the success of the album even further (with Vijay, good picturisation of the songs is a certainty). If you know what to expect from this album, you wont be disappointed too much.

Overall: Good Entertainment for the target audience
